What to do with spam or fake leads

Last updated: 2 Nov 2026

Lead forms use a quick check and a speed limit to stop robots, but some spam can still arrive. There is no spam button on leads yet.

Steps

  1. Open the spam lead and set its Status to Lost.
  2. Add a Note such as "spam" so you remember.
  3. Do not call back numbers that look suspicious.
  4. If the same person keeps sending spam or abuse, raise a ticket in the Abuse category with their number or email.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing your OTP or bank details with a "buyer" who asks for them.
  • Replying to spam emails with your personal details.
