Brain fever" is a non-medical term that typically refers to encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) or meningitis (inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord). Both conditions are medical emergencies requiring immediate attention.
? High fever (sudden onset, often severe)
? Severe headache (worsens with light/movement)
? Stiff neck (difficulty bending neck forward)
? Confusion, disorientation, or memory loss
? Drowsiness or difficulty staying awake
? Seizures or convulsions
? Slurred speech or trouble understanding words
? Muscle weakness or paralysis (especially on one side)
? Sensitivity to light (photophobia)
? Nausea & vomiting (without stomach illness)
Loss of consciousness or coma
Purple/red rash that doesn't fade when pressed (meningococcal meningitis)
Difficulty breathing or irregular heartbeat
Go to a hospital immediately if someone has: ✅ High fever + confusion/seizures
✅ Stiff neck + headache + vomiting (meningitis signs)
✅ Sudden weakness/speech problems (stroke-like)
✅ Rash that doesn't fade when pressed (bacterial meningitis)
