Thought he wrote widely and in a number of genres,Ramanujan's poem are remembered as enigmatic works of startling originality, sophistication and moving artistry. For much of his career, Ramanujan taught at the University of Chicago, where he helped develop the south Asian studies program. In 1976, the Indian government honoured him with the little padma shri ​​​​​​. He died on 13 July, 1993 in Chicago, United States.

Grandfather bought toto from a tonga _driver for the sum of five rupees. The tonga driver used to keep the little red monkey tied to a feeding _though ,and the monkey looked so out of place there that Grandfather decided he would add the little fellow to his private zoo.                               Toto was a pretty monkey. His bright eyes sparkled with mischief beneath deep _set eyebrows, and his teeth, which were a pearly white,were very often displayed in a smile that frightened the life out of elderly Anglo _Indian ladies. But his hands looked dried _up as tough they had been pickled in the sun for many years. Yet his fingers were quick and wicked;and hes tail, while adding to his good looks (Grandfather believed a tail would add to anyone 's good looks),also served as a third hand. He could use it to hang from a branch;and it was capable of scooping up any delicacy that might be out of reach of his hands.

They turned the pages, which were yellow and crinkly ,and it was awfully funny to read words that stood still instead of moving the way they were supposed to __ on a screen, you know. And then when they turned back to the page before, it had the same words on it that it had when they read it the first time.
