Ak Ramanujan, born on 16 march 1929,was an Indian poet and scholar of Indian literature who wrote in both English and kannada. He worked on both classical and Morden variants this literature. Thought he wrote widely and in a number of genres,Ramanujan's poem are remembered as enigmatic works of startling originality, sophistication and moving artistry. For much of his career, Ramanujan taught at the University of Chicago, where he helped develop the south Asian studies program. In 1976, the Indian government honoured him with the little padma shri . He died on 13 July, 1993 in Chicago, United States.
